Tranismission Fluid Oxidation
Automatic transmission fluid will provide 100,000 miles of service before oxidation occurs under normal operating temperatures or about 175 degree F.
Above normal operating temperatures, the oxidation rate doubles with each 20 degree increase in temperature.
Above normal operating temperatures, the oxidation rate doubles with each 20 degree increase in temperature.
Car engine overheating will decrease the life of transmission fluid.
Example: At 275 degrees F, the fluid has a life of only 3,000 miles!
Solution - Minimize engine overheating and replace transmission fluid regularly to help prevent expensive transmission repair costs.
